James Olmsted is a retired attorney dedicated to protecting democracy, defending democratic institutions, and ensuring environmental sustainability. He is the co-founder and president of Democracy4All (D4A), a nonprofit organization committed to advancing these values.
At D4A, we believe that democracy is the foundation upon which all other protections rest. Only in a democratic society—where citizens have a voice, laws are just, and leaders are accountable—can we effectively safeguard social safety nets, combat climate change, and preserve natural landscapes.
Our mission is clear: Safeguard democracy above all. A thriving democracy secures vital programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, while empowering citizens to champion climate action, preserve natural lands, and protect vulnerable species.
Our Core Principles:
James Olmsted and D4A are committed to a future where democracy is protected, every individual has the opportunity to thrive, and the planet is preserved. Join us in building a just and sustainable future.
